Archivio della Nunziatura Apostolica in Cuba e Portorico, 1906-1939.

This series concentrates on relations of the Catholic Church in Cuba in the early part of the twentieth century. The records also include several longer studies that provide information on the history of the seminary and dioceses in Cuba. Of special interest to researchers in Catholicism in the United States, this series does demonstrate some of the assistance given to the Catholic Church in Cuba by the Archdiocese of New York. Material regarding Puerto Rico is evident throughout the pre-1922 portion of the series. There is also a scattering of items concerning Mexico. Additional material can be located in the archives of other Central and South American nunciatures (particularly Brazil), the archives of the nunciature in Spain, and in the Secretariatus Status series Esteri.
